I've had almost daily problems with Outlook 2007 since moving to Vista. Any
guidance, suggestions, help someone could provide would be appreciated.
Please note the steps already tried.

------
• Environment is Outlook 2007 with Business Contact Mgr running on Vista
o 1 exchange account
o 1 hotmail account using Outlook connector
o Office SP1 installed
o Office Diagnostics shows now problems
o All add-ins inactive or disabled except for BCM for Outlook, COM Addin for
Outlook Connector, Outlook Mobile Service, & Windows Search Email Extender
• Two ongoing problems
o Upon exit of Outlook while completing Send/Receive Outlook hangs (started
when I moved to Vista 7 months ago)
 Message says Outlook stops responding, check for error correction (?), and
restarting
 Each time I exit this repeats
 If I remove hotmail account this problem goes away
o Reading pane and other UI components stop working (started in last 8 weeks)
 Reading pane either shows grey or mirrors the message list
 Item count for a particular folder is wrong (i.e. doesn’t decrement)
 Messages with attachments won’t display attachments or when attachment
icon is clicked on nothing happens
 When these conditions occur three other symptoms appear
• Upon exit Outlook hangs on ‘saving synchronization log’
• When canceling step Outlook appears to shut down but exec still visible in
task mgr (with 50% util)
• On next initialization of Outlook Inbox takes minutes to display
• What I’ve tried
o Running OST repair utility
o Creating a new profile
o Multiple calls with MS tech support.
