Hi there and I could really use some help over here.
I have a laptop with Windows Vista Business. Installed with it was Office
2007 which included Outlook 2007.
For the past few years I was working with my laptop with one company
connecting to the exchange server using Outlook 2007. It has worked well
both locally and remotely. Now that I have changed jobs I have decided to
use the same laptop computer to connect to their exchange server and receive
my new e-mail.
The first thing I did was to create a separate PST file for the old company
and store the old e-mails etc. I deleted the old exchange settings and then
closed Outlook and create the new exchange settings. It seems to talk to
the exchange server and find out my account settings etc. which then I
decided to open Outlook 2007.
At first there seems to be an error where Outlook could not open. Looking
through the Internet there Microsoft seems to advise that you can clear the
profile by running a patch called "DeleteOutlookProfiles.msi" I did that,
created a new profile and opened again Outlook 2007. This time there seems
to be another error "Cannot open your default e-mail folders. The
information store could not be opened"
Bugger!!!!
I have done everything besides reinstall the Outlook because I believe that
this will not solve the issue given past experiences with Outlook 2007
leaving certain "stuff" behind when uninstalling. I have even archived the
Outlook folder in my account folder in order to force Outlook to start
virtually from scratch with a completely new profile.
I am at a lost and willing to converse with anyone that could help my with a
solution to this.
Thanks in advance
Kindest Regards
