Outlook 2007 pst Backup

When I try to open Outlook a splash screen comes up as below opens which
means I cannot access anything other than OK-ing the message but then of
course Outlook closes.
Have run Sanpst, by searching for it and it comes back no errors found but
the screen still persists? Tried going into the mail folder in control panel
and removing the data file from there but it will not allow me to do so as
its the default one and to be frank I dint know how to create another or
indeed remove the existing one?

Error message reads:
"Cannot open default email foldeer. Errors have been detected in file
C;\User\John\AppData\Local\Outlook\Outlook.pst. Quit all mail enabled
applications then use Scanpst.exe to diagnose and repair errors in file. More
information see inbox repair tools, see help".

I am at a loss solve the problem and hope someone can please assist me.

It's quite strange to get errors reported when starting Outlook but not when
scanning the pst-files with scanpst.exe. Are you sure you scanned the
correct file?

To see if Outlook starts correctly with a new pst-file do the following;
-In Control Panel-> Mail click the Data Files... button
-Press Add... to create a new one
-Once created, select it in the overview of data files and click Set As
Default

If you want to do this without interfering with your current configuration,
then you can create a new mail profile as well and then connect the current
pst-file to it via File-> Open-> Outlook Data File...

As you have run sanpst.exe, you can try another 3rd part pst-repair
tool tool called Advanced Outlook Repair. You can download a free demo
version at http://www.datanumen.com/aor/aor.exe . I think it is a
useful repair tool for you. It is easy to recover your PST file by
using its wizard. It is a powerful tool to recover messages, folders
and other objects from corrupt or damaged Microsoft Outlook PST
files.

Detailed information about Advanced Outlook Repair can be found at
http://www.datanumen.com/aor/
