OUTLOOK 2007 .PST FILE CRASHED

hi, i am unable to retrieve data from my outlook .pst file .
my lap top kept dumping memory many a time and at last Hard disk got
crashed. my IT person is unable to retrieve my 3 GB important mail from the
disk.

can you please help ?

Are you able to copy the pst-file to another hard disk?
If not; why? What happens when you try?

When you have recovered the pst-file to another machine, try connecting it
to Outlook on that machine via;
File-> Open-> Outlook Data File...

If it complains about errors, scan it for errors with scanpst.exe;
