Outlook 2007: question regarding the preview pane

Hi everybody,


Not a problem but a question concerning the right hand side message preview
pane.

Unless I am mistaken, this pane previews the mails received in plain text
(with the images if I ask for it), but doesn't show the background
picture/color of the message.

How can I preview the message in html format with all the attributes
(background color or picture, colors, etc.) ?

By the way, is it IE which is used to display the messages in that preview
plane ?

The messages should be previewed as they were sent unless you turn on the
option to view all mail as plain text. If I remember correctly Word's
rendering engine is used to show the mail items. That may, of course, be
based on IE's.

Since I posted my message I found out that Outlook 2007 will no longer
support such functions as Forms, Background images,
Animated GIFs, Flash, CSS Float or position commands, according to the

What do you think? Is it the reality?
