Outlook 2007 Receive Error

R

Runaround

I have begun to receive the error message, "Receiving' reported error
(0x80040154): 'Unknown Error 8s80040154'.
And I cannot receive e-mails into my Outlook 2007.
Any resolution available?

Try this: click 'Start|Run' and enter the following:

regsvr32 inetcomm.dll

Click OK. Please let us know if this works.

Runaround

After running regsvr32inetcomm.dll a popup box appeared with the message,
'DllRegisterServer in inetcomm.dll succeeded.'
But OL stills does now download incoming messages and displays the same
error message initially reported. I might add, I can send messages I just
can't pick them up from the server.

Did you re-boot first?

I tried re-booting first.......same results.
Any suggestions?
Can I reinstall Outlook over the existing install to correct this problem?

Have you tried the "Test Account Settings" function within Account setup?
That can sometimes be quite revealing...

Runaround

All accounts test 'complete' and yet I am still receiving the originial
error -
Can I retinstall Outlook over the existing install to correct this problem?
I really don't want to uninstall the complete 2007 Office Suite unless that
is the only way to correct this issue.
Please advise.
Thanks

I have begun to receive the same error message - I can send emails, and
when
I test my settings, it indicates that Outlook cannot log on to the Pop
server.

And what does the exact error message from the "test account settings"
dialog say?

May I suggest that, to avoid inevitable future problems, you uninstall AVG,
then do a custom re-install WITHOUT any email scanning services? Email
scanning is redundant, it does nothing but cause problems, and your system
is fully protected without it, provided you keep AVG's resident file system
scanner up to date.
