Outlook 2007 refuses to send mail with attachments--delivery delay

D

David Smith

I'm running Vista and Outlook 2007. My mail server is Earthlink.

When I add an attachment to an email message, or incorporate a graphic,
Outlook automatically delays delivery until 5pm on the day the message was
created.

Of course, I go in uncheck the the delayed delivery option, but when I send
it just comes back again. I try to change the time to, say 2pm but it doesn't
send and resets to 5pm.

Help! This is driving me crazy. I can't find any mention of this problem
online.

I can't find any settings in the Outlook client and suspected it might be on
the Earthlink smtp server. But then I noticed that the delayed deliver was
established by the client before it spoke to the server.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

Are you clicking on Delay Delivery in Options? It seems when I do this that
outlook sets a delivery delay even though I don't check the box. When you
click it to remove the checkbox you are actually setting the delay to 5pm
then removing it. That really shouldn't be so but it is the way I am finding
it here.

Also ensure "Send Immediately when Connected" is checked:

1. On the Tools menu, click Options.
2. Click the Mail Setup tab.
3. Click to select the Send immediately when connected check box.
