Outlook 2007 Reminders

Having an issue with Outlook 2007 Calendar reminders. When dismissing
a reminder, it continues to appear. Most time, if I select dismiss
all, then they go away, never to return. However, If I dismiss
selectively, then they continue to appear.

Anyone else noticing this behavior?

I have the same problem and would appreciate a solution! Also, some of these
reminders seem to have a desire to propagate themselves, and multiply the
number of times they appear!

I am having the identical problem. I have 156 reminders that I never set and
have attempted numerous times to dismiss and they keep reappearing.

Have you tried starting Outlook with the /cleanreminders command switch?

For Windows prior to Vista, click Start>Run and enter

outlook.exe /cleanreminders

in the Open field, then click OK. Make sure you include the space. For
Vista, enter the above into the Search field you see when you click the
Windows button at the left end of the Task bar.

I tried this with my Vista OS and could not start Outlook 2007 with the error
msg "command line argument is not valid. Verify the switch you are using".
I entered the "argument" in the Search box which appears just above the
Start button on the lower left of the Desktop screen.

Well, that would be why he said 'For windows prior to Vista'....

Try hitting Windows Key-R to get the old Run box.

outlook /cleanreminders works here. Does outlook /safe work? Might as well
make sure other command line options work fine.

No, the command did not work.

Just typing outlook /safe didn't work?

Space before the forward slash, no space after, and the forward slash is the
character sharing the key with the question mark?

And what you get is the following dialog box:

I've read most of these "reminder" threads and not found a solution.
I have tried the outlook /cleanreminders and /resetfolders switches and
while the command runs without error, the problem persists.

I'm having two different outlook problems.
Running Outlook 2007 cached mode
tasks are due at 5:00pm and the reminders come up at 8:00 due in 9 hours
appts show up sometimes correct and sometimes incorrect.
recurring appts pick the LAST recurrance and display that an appt is 52
weeks overdue (for a birthday). Also, recurring appt reminders can get
dismissed in an outlook session but reappear upon launching outlook the next
time.

I have uninstalled Office 07 and run Office 03 and the reminder work fine.
I have done both a clean install (delete ost file) and an upgrade to 07 and
had the same problems appear.

Regardless which desktop version (03 or 07) my reminders display correctly
in OWA running Exchange 03.

Any other suggestions

I am assuming that you are accessing Outlook from multiple clients if so
consider starting Outlook from the command line
Outlook.exe /cleansniff

This overrides the programmatic lockout that determines which of your
computers (when running Outlook simultaneously) processes meeting items. The
lockout process helps prevent duplicate reminder messages. This switch clears
the lockout on the computer it is used, enabling Outlook to process meeting
items.

OA - you sound like a smart guy. Quick question - when followin your
suggestion, this, does Outlook reset completely? I ran cleanREMINDERS and
found that it completely dropped my personal folders and my personal emails
and for some reason completely restarted Exchange email from zero. I am
wondering whether your suggested cleansniff would have been the better choice
since I was using Exchange email as well as POP3 email
