Outlook 2007 repeats request to connect?

Is anyone else experiencing the problem of repeated requests to connect to
an HTTP mail server in Outlook 2007, despite the fact you check the button
to save the name and password? Furthermore, the request dialog appears
twice for each request. The requests almost seem random, with different
accounts randomly requesting a reconfirmation of the name and password. We
assumed that once you accepted the name and password, with the option
checked to save the information, that the dialog would no longer be
necessary. The appearance of this dialog is disruptive and we desire to
retain a persistent connection without having to accept the dialog. It
seems to us that this dialog is triggered far more frequently than in prior
versions.
