Outlook 2007 RSS Feeds Send / Receive Error

Hi,
I'm getting the following RSS-related errors when doing a send receive in
Outlook 2007:
Task 'RSS Feeds' reported error (0xEF640155): Synchronisation to RSS
Feed:"http://rss-feed-url-here" has failed. Outlook cannot download the RSS
content from http://rss-feed-url because of a problem connecting to the
server.

Task 'RSS Feeds' reported error (0xEF640155): Outlook cannot download the
RSS content from http://rss-feed-url because of a problem connecting to the
server. An OLE registration error occurred. The program is not correctly
installed. Run Setup again for the program.

The error codes have also been:
0xDCD40155
0xDEE40155
0xEB440155
0xED540155
but with the exact same 2 messages. And it only shows errors for 2 feeds
(the above two errors per feed, each send/receive), even though it is
actually failing to collect 5 feeds in total...
Any ideas?

This used to work fine until yesterday, I think, although I just set them up
a day or two before that, so total operational time was 1-2days. RSS Bandit,
here I come again!

i have the same kind of problem.
i configured the rss feeds and at the first time received fine, after first
receipt didn't work anymore giving always a different kind of error code,
like: 0xD0740155, 0xD2840155, 0xD4940155, 0xD6A40155 and so on, but always
the same error messages like those reprted here.

Thanks to all for the help.

First thing to try is to delete the file ending in sharing.xml.obi in
\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Application
Data\Microsoft\Outlook while Outlook is closed. If that doesn't help,
export all RSS feeds as OPML (File, Import and Export), delete all RSS
folders and accounts, close Outlook, delete the above file again, reopen
Outlook and reimport your OPML.

Might work or not...

it seems that exporting the rss acccounts, deleting all, accounts and folders
than reimporting all the accounts works.

thanks a lot.

The question of the day though is for how long it will work...

Hi Patrick,
Soory if it looks like I abandoned my own question: had to do some work for
a change the last couple of days!

So no permanent-ish fix then... ok then back to newsgator / rss bandit!

BTW, do you know if OWA will support RSS feeds? I suppose we'll have to wait
for Exchange 2007...

No permanent fix that I know of. We'll have to wait for the next beta
release and hope for the best. No ETA on that one yet.
I don't know about OWA. Sorry.

Wait for the RTM then! Cheers anyway...

No, it won't. Think about it: It's the Outlook client that handles the RSS feed download, not the Exchange server. If Exchange was going to support RSS feed downloads, where would it put the data? In public folders. But public folders are not supported in OWA 2007.

I have the same problem,
I tried the export/erase/import route, but to no avail.
It's too bad, outlook 2k7 is almost PERFECT! But without working RSS it will
sadly remain ALMOST.

Also, why isn't there a right click "copy message to folder" option?
Just wondering

Please provide details of your problem and symptoms, starting with whether you've installed B2TR.
"The same problem" doesn't provide any useful troubleshooting information.

If an option isn't available, it's most likely because Microsoft's usage testing indicated that few people need it. If you want a right-click "copy message to folder" options, you can build one with Outlook VBA.

problem posted here, I was just trying to condense the number of threads
that contain the same topic

I'm running outlook beta v 12.0.4017.1006

Building your own shortcuts sounds nice, was just curious why the obvious
'move to' and 'copy to' were not together.
I do understand the need to follow user demands being an HCI HF guy myself.
One reason I wanted to get the office beta is because I know someone who
worked on the UI for office 2k7
:)

You are not running B2TR. That explains why you are having issues.
Outlook B2TR is 12.0.4407.1004
Get B2TR, but follow the steps on my "B2TR Issues" blog post for RSS
regarding upgrading from B2 to B2TR>
