Outlook 2007 rules

Hi there,

I found the rule processing order doesn't take into consideration the order
I set in my rules list. Is it true ?

If so, do you know a method to enforce the sequential processing in the list
order ?

TIA,
Sabin

No, that is not true. Rules are processed from top to bottom so make sure
your sort them correctly and use the action "stop processing more rules"
accordingly.

Hi Robert,

I receive a test mail with "test_x" in subject, and I want to create two
rules to check the processing order.

I made two rules:
- Rule 1, which has to moved any mai recived with "test_x" word in subject
to the my folder "test_1"
- Rule 1, which has to moved any mai recived with "test_x" word in subject
to the my folder "test_2"

I command "Run Rules Now", after I select both Rule 1 and Rule 2.
After the rule processing, I get a copy of "test_x" mail both in "test_1",
and in "test_2" folders.

Why it is not just one single copy, because I specified just to move not to
copy in the rules ?

TIA,
Sabin

Because a message is checked against all rules starting with the first and
ending with the last so multiple rules can apply to a single message.
That's why I said that you should use the action "stop processing rules"
accordingly ;-)
