OUTLOOK 2007; RUNNING VISTA

Prior to 9/2008 Outlook was performing beautifully. Now for some reason I am
experiencing a number of errors when running Outlook.
1. Cannot delete messages in the Deleted Items folder. The Tools options is
also selected to delete all items in the Deleted Items folder upon existing;
that function no longer works either. The error message reads: The messaging
interface has returned an unknown error. If the problem persists, restart
Outlook.
2. Send messages just sit in the Outbox.
3. Cannot manually deleted everything in the Junk E-Mail folder. The error
message reads: Errors have been detected in the
C:\Users\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook\Outlook.pst. Quit Outlook and all
mail-enabled application, and then use the Inbox repair tool (Scanpst.exe) to
diagnose and repair errors in the file. For more information about the Inbox
repair tool, see Help.
4. Continually receive error messages opening Outlook reading that the
programs was not closed properly.

Did you run the SCANPST.EXE? It is a program to fix a PST file. To run this
go to: C:/Program Files/Microsoft Office/Office12/SCANPST.EXE in the Windows
Explorer (and double click it) or try the path to the file in 'Run' in the
Start menu. (Before running the SCANPST.EXE restart windows if you had tryed
to open Outlook). I made backup copies of the Outlook.pst and even the
Archive.pst (and any other pst files) before running the SCANPST.EXE.

There is also the Microsoft Office Diagnostics program that can be run. It is
found in the Start menu / Programs / Microsoft Office / Microsoft Office
Tools / Microsoft Office Diagnostics

Also in the Control Panel under Programs and Features, you can highlight the
Office 2007 program, and then choose 'Change' and then 'Repair'. (be careful
that you do not enter into or choose uninstall)--just choose 'Repair' if you
wish to run it.
