Outlook 2007 saves attachments with "Temporary" file attribute set

When I save a file attachment in Microsoft Office Outlook 2007, the
"Temporary" file attribute is set on the file. This is a problem
because Microsoft Office Groove 2007 will not synchronize files with
this attribute set. As a result, if I don't remember to manually unset
this attribute on each attachment I save, it does not get synchronized
by Groove.

Is there any way to turn off this "feature"?

P.S.
The Temporary attribute is very well hidden from the Windows GUI. I've
found that the program fileTweak is the best way to see it. I believe
it may also be possible to view this attribute using PowerShell.

Where are you saving the file to? I save a lot to my "groove sync"
folder and they sync fine.  I could see it happening if i synced the
securetemp folder as those files *are* temporary.

As a test, I just created a new text file on my desktop, sent it to
myself as an attachment, and saved it right back to the desktop
(changing the name). The attachment has the Temporary bit set, while
the original does not.

As a further test, I tried attaching/sending it using both Outlook and
Outlook webmail, and then reading/saving it using both. The copies
saved using webmail never had the bit set, and the copies saved using
Outlook always had the bit set. It didn't matter what the sending
program was. This suggests that Outlook is setting the bit at the time
it is saving the file.

It turns out that the cause of this was Outlook Auto-Protect in
Symantec Endpoint Protection. Once I turned off Outlook Auto-Protect,
the problem went away.
