I've searched through the threads on this topic and there are a lot of
them. It seems like it is a very common problem. Is there any
solution yet? I couldn't find a solid fix in the old posts except to
install the Google Desktop Search, which I may just have to do. Seems
crazy that Outlook/Vista won't work though. I really don't know which
one of the two is the problem.
I'm running Outlook 2007 on Vista Ultimate x64. All my mailboxes are
checked in Tools->Options->Search Options. I also went into the
Vista Control Panel, Indexing Options and made sure that .pst and .ost
file types were checked. I then rebuilt the index. It didn't help.
If I do a search using Outlook Instant Search boxes, I always get
nothing, even though I use criteria that I know match several messages.
The searches always come up completely empty. Can anyone suggest what
I'm missing?
