i have 2 current problems with searching...
1.searching for incomplete words or references does not work unless you
enter the beginning of the actual work or ref. for instance, if i wanted to
search for the word holiday i could just enter 'holid' or 'holi' and the
search would show all mails i was looking for but if you type the search
without the beginning 'oliday' no matches are found. this was not the case in
outlook 2003???
2.if messages come in with line breaks removed they will not be shown in any
search results until you have opened the message allowed the line breaks and
saved the message??

i thought these problems mighh be a one off but i have replicated on several
pcs.
hope someone can help as its driving me and my users batty.

I have a similar issue:

When I search my contacts or emails for a particular name, the results only
return a partial list of results. e.g. I know I have 10 emails from Kim.
If I type in Kim in the search window in my in-box, I only get 1 email
returned. If I manually find the emails from Kim open one of them and then
redo the search, I get 2 hits. I have similar issues in the Contacts
window, but opening the contact does not improve the results.

This is a new machine an I recently moved the .pst data file to this
computer. I checked the indexing and it indicated that everything was
indexed.

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks

Rangerdog,

I found this resource @ http://www.msoutlook.info/question/47 in an answer
to another post. I am trying it now to see if it fixes my issue. In running
the repair utility, it found errors in all my .pst files, so I'm hopeful.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed. If nothing else, msoutlook.info, looks like
a useful site.
