Outlook 2007 - Selecting text

When I read emails that I have received either in the reading panel, or by
opening the email into a new window, the mouse cursor is a 'hand' that
allows me to pan around the message. I want it to go back to the way it
worked in 2003 (and every other Windows app grrrr) where I can highlight and
select text.

I have looked around, and found several places where it says to click on a
'hand' icon that appears above the vertical scroll bar. All well and good,
except I have no such icon. :(

Anyone know how to either get the icon back, or to disable the 'panning'
option - probably via a registry setting?

TIA

BTW, I have no add-ons loaded that I am aware of.

Hello there,

Your panning hand for the reading pane has been turned on. To turn off the
panning hand just click the hand-like icon at the top of the scrollbar. :)

Please disregard my previous post :)

I am wondering, have you installed any input device (e.g. Mouse, Tablet,
etc) before the problem occured. In my machine the panning hand appeared when
I installed a Wacom Tablet onto Windows Vista.

Hmm, you could be on to something. I am running Vista 32bit, and I have a
Wacom tablet installed (but not connected most of the time, the Vista tablet
stuff annoys me too much, and there are some multi-user bugs that cause
major problems) and a Logitech MX-1000 with the lastest drivers.
