Randy A.
I have spent a majority of the afternoon reviewing the posts here trying to
find a fix to the problem that I am having..
This is my second full day using Office 2007. I have been using Office XP
(Outlook 2002) quite happily for the past 3 years, but the time had arrived
to upgrade..
PROBLEM:
Whenever I try to send any email that has an attachment of any file type,
the email ends up just sitting in the Outbox. I follow the send/receive
messages and when I send an email it will only read "Preparing to
Send/Receive". I have received a server time-out error from the SMTP server
or the email just sits in the Outbox and does nothing.
I have tried this with varied sized attachments and file types and have the
same issue.
I have sent emails to the same email address without an attachment at the
message is sent without an issue.
At first I thought that it was a problem with our email provider. I work
for an Auto Group and we use a company called Dealerskins for our email. I
checked with Dealerskins and they told me that the attachment size limit was
5 MB and the attachments I've been trying to send are well below that.
Dealerskins also has an web based tool for emails. When I go there and send
the same email with attachments it is delivered with no problems. So, I'm
only having these issues with Outlook 2007.
WHAT I'VE DONE SO FAR:
The error was regarding a server timeout, so I extended the timeout time in
account.
I've recreated the email account in Outlook.
I've switched off the anti-virus scan on outgoing email.
I've verified that I have no other firewall program or anti-virus software
that could be interfering with the sending of these emails.
SYSTEM INFORMATION:
Dell Latitude D520
Intel Core Duo Processor
Vista Ultimate - 32
Office 2007
3MB Ram
I just need some assistance in fixing this problem. I'm confident that it
isn't an ISP issue. The problem seems to rest solely in Outlook 2007 but I'm
out of ideas on how to fix the problem
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
