Outlook 2007 sends pdf attachments as winmail.dat

I set the formating as plain text but still no success. All
attachments I sent out either pdf, .zip or .rar end up as winmail.dat.

Any idea?

I am trying to use Outlook 2007.

have you checked the following?

1) Open contact record. Double click on email address. Verify that it is
*not* set to always send in Outlook Rich Text.

2) Tools > Options > Mail Format tab > Internet Format. The default is to
convert to HTML.

No luck, this does not resolve the issue.

I wonder if Microsoft is trying to prevent us from sending pdf
attachments?

Any third party applications installed? (ActiveSync, Palm sync software,
..etc)

Yes Active sync is installed. It seems to happen to anyone who uses
Eudora.
