I installed the Office 2007 Enterprise version on my laptop. Since Outlook
got upgraded to 2007, it's extremely slow and hogs up the system resources.
This is particularly pronounced when Outlook accesses the POP3 servers to
download new messages.
Outlook 2003 was slow when messages were being downloaded, but Outlook 2007
has given new meaning to the word "slow." I suspect that part of this is due
to the Indexing add-in, which tries to index messages while they're being
downloaded. (LookOut, the add-in that MS apparently incorporated in the new
version of Outlook, did its indexing in the background when the computer was
not being used).
Is there any way to speed up Outlook 2007?
I'm using a Intel Pentium M 2.00 GHz processor, with 1 Gig of RAM, while
running Windows XP, which provides plenty of processing power for all other
applications.
