Sure it is supported but on a BETA level. Due to known compatibility issues
between Vista RC1 and BETA 2 without the TR it is not worth collecting
issues and troubleshooting them since the issues occur because of underlying
platform changes (in Vista). The TR support these platform changes. If it
still occurs AFTER installing the TR then it is worth collecting the info
which could lead to a solution.

well, truthfully, i didn't think Office 2007 "BETA" 2 was supported at
all. that doesn't outlaw people from trying to help, though, i'm
guessing.
does that mean you wouldn't have proffered the previous assistance if
you knew then that i was running an "unsupported" version?
)
it's kind of like, we users pick up on things in these "discussions"
anyway, and MS reads them and discovers bugs and symptoms, ANYWAY, so
we all benefit from discussing these things:
newest behaviour in this "bug": when i Send the FIRST time, CPU goes to
90% and sticks. AS SOON AS I HIT Reply (to any email), the CPU resource
is released and Outlook behaves normally. even if i don't Send it. so
that beats closing and reopening. but it's still a minor bug and
annoying.
Performance seems way improved over running it on XPMC (those fake
glass themes i think interefered with it, too...)
for all who's interested. thanks anyway.
Ah, you're running Vista; you left that part out. RC1 perhaps or at least
any other later build than BETA 2? Office 2007 BETA 2 is not supported on
that build; it's in the release notes.

yes, the only AV i can find that runs on Vista is Trend PPCillin - i've
tried that already.
addendum: CPU jumps to 90% on Send, but if i Reply and Send AGAIN (to
anyone) it clears it and all is fine. so if i have to send 2 emails,
i'm good; if sending 1, i have to close and reopen.
Diagnostics says all is well. It's wrong.
Does your virus scanner integrate with Outlook? Disable it and try
again.

Outlook 2007 runs fine UNTIL i send an email, then the it spikes my CPU
to 90%+ and stays there. i have to close and reopen to be able to
browse other emails, etc...
anybody have any ideas why?
thanks
