outlook 2007 startup wizard keeps opening

outlook 2007 keeps starting the setup wizard, when I open outlook,
even though I have a valid working profile. I can reboot the pc and it
fixes it, only until i close and then later re-open it. has anyone
ever dealt with this issue? if so, what should/could I look for to
resolve this?

ok...more info.
outlook 2007 12.0.6504.5000 sp2
vista 64bit
using google sync for google apps. (yes, i know it's not officially
supported for vista64).
two profiles (outlook, googappsprofile). the latter is set for
default.

any ideas?
