Outlook 2007 stops receiving on last received email

Mike

I'm using POP3, and it appears most of the time when I'm email, Outlook will
just stop getting the last message. It doesn't matter how many (could be 15,
could be 55), or how large the emails are, about 95% of the way through
Outlook just stops getting the last email. Closing Outlook works, but then
I get an error message. I'm guessing the problem's with my PST file (about
600mb) and will test this out with some smaller PSTs but was wondering if
anyone else was having this problem.

Thanks!

Have you disabled all your add-ins already (via Trust Center, Add-Ins,
the combo-box on the bottom gives you access to changing the add-ins)?
Especially any anti-virus scanner integration in Outlook should be
disabled. It's not needed anyhow.
Someone else has reported a similar issue already here, but I don't
remember what the outcome was anymore.

I've never had email scanning enabled, and I already removed the 2 add-ins
that weren't compatible. The problem is that it doesn't always happen, so
it's hard to test against. For example, it's not happening at the moment.
It's mildly annoying - maybe a 2 on 1-10 scale - so I can live with it. For
all I know, it could be an issue with my ISP and have nothing to do with
Outlook.

Thanks,
Mike

Hi Mike,

You could the following. Go into Tools, Options, Other, Advanced Options
and Enable Logging. Log files are saved in Documents and
Settings\username\Local Settings\Temp\Outlook Logging
When you have the issue again, look up the corresponding log file (they
should have datestamps) and find what was going on when the issue
happened (there are timestamps). If you could copy & paste around 20
lines of the log around when the problem happened, we might be able to
tell you what is going on, and also see if this is with Outlook or your
ISP.
