Outlook 2007 task sub folders

I have 40 sub-folders. under each folder there might be 4 or 5 tasks. how
can I stop my sub-folder tasks from showing up in my task bar? The goal is
to have the tasks in my main task folder show up only. Theoretically, I
thought the purpose of a sub-folder was to subcategorize your main folder to
review at a later date and than move them into the main task folder for
actual implimentation.

Personally I don't use sub-folders for my tasks at all but use categories.
You can set an "In Folder" filter on the view of the To-Do List to show only
items from the folder of your choice.
