Outlook 2007 Task Views Problem

My custom views for tasks don't work! When I select one, I get this message:
"Outlook cannot display this view." + an OK button. I tried everything in
the book to fix it and nothing works.

I then removed the views using the /cleanviews switch since I have lots of
backups and I have multiple types of settings backups. They're all current
and good - I checked! So none of my backups, including image backups of the
entire drive, specific Outlook backups, setting backups, etc. restored the
views. So now I have no views!

I found on numerous sites a reference to the 'views.dat' file, but that file
doesn't exist at all (anywhere on the drive or in any of my backups). What I
did find out is that the views appear to be stored in the .pst file itself.
I restored and opened an older copy of the .pst file and my views where there
and working (in that .pst file).

Since I have never found a way to just export views, I came up with a
work-around years ago. I select the folder with the view I want to copy. In
the "Custom View Organizer" window (define views), I select the view and copy
it to "All Task Folders". Then I select the target Task folder where I want
to use the view. In the "Custom View Organizer", I do another copy, but this
time I copy it using the "This folder, visible to everyone" option. I then
delete the "All Task Folders" version of the view.

But when I copy a view using my workaround above, I get an error message
that says, "You cannot create a view based on a card, day/week/month, or
timeline view type in this folder. Use a table or icon view type instead.
Outlook cannot correctly save the view. Any changes you made to the view may
be lost." This error message is in error, because the view I'm copying is a
table view!

How do I get my views back? And how do I save my View setttings now?

I don't just want to restore my .pst file, because I'll lose the emails and
changes I made since the last backup!

Thanks for your help,

RiteGuy
