Hello everyone,
I have a rather long winded 2-part question about Outlook 2007.
I have three email accounts, all set up as IMAP. As shown in the
following picture:
https://webspace.utexas.edu/lahiris/outlook2007/expanded.jpg
This is what it looks like when all the folders are expanded. So my
first question is, whenever I open Outlook 2007, the folders are all
collapsed, and look like this:
https://webspace.utexas.edu/lahiris/outlook2007/collapsed.jpg
1. How can I get my Outlook 2007 IMAP folders to stay expanded and
not collapse every time I close and open Outlook?
---
My second question is a little more complicated. Despite the first
question, I actually prefer all my folders to be collapsed. I rely on
my Favorites list (as seen in the above two images) to read my mail.
There is an annoying problem, however, that whenever I open Outlook,
the bolded unread email counter will not show up on the corresponding
folder on the favorites list.
To give an example, I know that Stanford Email has a new message in
it. I open up Outlook, it checks and grabs the email, but the folders
continue to look like collapsed.jpg. However, when I actually click
Main Mail, the unread counter suddenly lights up, as seen here:
https://webspace.utexas.edu/lahiris/outlook2007/newmail.jpg
So basically, in order to check my email, I have to physically click
through all the folders as listed in my favorite folders window. It
makes the unread counter completely pointless if I have to click on
the folder anyway.
So my question is, how do I make new mail appear with the unread
counter as seen in newmail.jpg without having to physically click it?
This has been driving me nuts lately.
Thanks!
