Outlook 2007 weird crash problem

Hi Guys and Gals,

this is a weird one.

My Outlook 2007 crashes if I try and change to the Calendar view. I
use the button in the navigation pane on the left and immediately the
calendar window is partially built but CPU usage goes to >95% and
hangs there. Outlook hangs completely and can only be killed using the
taskmanager.

I have found an interesting workaround: If I go into "Outlook today",
open a calendar item and then use the button top left in that window
to open a calendar, I get a second outlook window with a correctly
functioning calendar. If I use the left-hand navigation buttons in
this second window to go back to email (or wherever) I can do that,
but trying to swap back to calendar again crashes Outlook as above.

We have tried everything obvious from re-installing Outlook and
Office, deleting and rebuilding the cache files, restoring an exchange
back-up from before this issue occurred and even setting up a
completely new user account on my laptop but the problem keeps re-
occurring.

I am running WinXP SP2, Office 2003 with Outlook 2007 connecting to
Exchange and although I did have Siemens, Samsung and Palm PDA and
phone sync software installed we have removed those to be safe (and
all previously worked perfectly).

This problem started suddenly on Wednesday - Outlook had been slow but
functional prior to that.

Any ideas?

(BTW - Office 2003/Outlook 2007 is a corporate IT decision - Nothing I
can do about that)
