Outlook 2007 will not migrate data on first use

After upgrading to Outlook 2007, when I start it for the first time, it shows
the dialog box "Migrating Current Data" along with two other functions, but
it closes before the check box appears next to migrating data.

Tried opening using safe mode, but the exact same thing happens.

So does anyone have any other suggestions . . .would reinstalling do anything?

I wanted to close this thread, but also wanted to thank you for your advice.
In recreating a new profile, using your instructions, I was able to
determine the real culprit behind my difficulties. It appears we have a very
ancient Exchange Server implementation . . .i.e. Exchange Server Version 5.5
that is NOT compatible with this new version of Outlook 2007. That is
essentially why the initial problem occurred during the migration of my
current settings/data when attempting to upgrade.

Your advice was right on, thank you, and Microsoft should thank you.
