Outlook 2007 with BCM trial installation: awful!

Man, what a waste of a weekend. Tried several times to install the latest and
greatest, mostly for Outlook + BCM. One headache after another - Outlook not
initially installed, BCM doesn't recognize the product key, no ability to
create or save new databases (or even calendar appointments for that matter).
The closest I got was being in an endless loop of "activate your software" -
shut down - restart - "activate your software".
Gotta get work done Monday a.m., so I reluctantly admitted defeat and
decided to revert back to 2003.
Luckily, I have lots of experience with crappy bloated software, so I
created a System Restore point before atempting to install the trial
software, so if anything went wrong, I could quickly get back to where I was
two days ago. No suprise, that strategy also blew up in my face. Has System
Restore EVER worked the way it's supposed to???
Suddenly my kludge of Maximizer 9 + Outlook 2003 doesn't seem so bad. Hope I
can get 'er back by morning.
If you're considering the trial software - tread carefully. Sounds like it
has worked for some - eventually - but this is not a project for the casual
user. I sifted through a lot of material in this process, and net result is
"slightly worse off than when I started'.
This is progress?
