Windows OS Windows XP (Home) Toshiba Laptop processor-1.6gz -RAM-512mb.
Outlook 2007 with BCM upgrade system very slow to open 60secs or more ( is
this normal)
Overall performance very slow. Any suggestions on how I can speed this
application up would be appreciated.

Depends. I have a machine without BCM, similar CPU, double the memory,
and Outlook takes around a minute to boot.
. If you've had this setup for a while and it used to be fast, read
this:

Otherwise, if it's always been slow, you need a faster CPU and more
RAM. I've found that faster harddisks can also make a noticeable
difference.
