Outlook 2007 with Office 2003?

I am currently using Office 2003 SP-3 and wish to stay with those apps, BUT,
I like the look and feel of Outlook 2007. Please advise if I can do an
install of only Outlook 2007 and have it play well with the other Office
2003 applications? Thanks in advance!

That will work but make sure to uninstall Outlook 2003 first. Note that
certain integrated functions will not work such as Mail Merge. For this,
Word and Outlook need to be the same version.

How about my various settings that Outlook 2003 currently uses.

Will they be retained after the uninstall of Outlook 2003 and the new
install of Outlook 2007?

No, settings will be deleted upon uninstalling. Whenever possible, settings
will be upgraded to Outlook 2007. Some features got dropped and others
replaced so not everything will be updated but in general, your settings
will be the same indeed.

you'll lose spell check and similar functions but it will work ok.
