outlook 2007 won't install with office 2007 professional

Anyone else purchased and registered 2007 professional from the trial version?
I did so, and then uninstalled my prior office professional only to find out
that all of my outlook app. and files were gone...
I have tried time and again to install outlook 2007 from the disks that were
mailed to me by MS but the install keeps coming up with a Red X on outlook
and will not let me install it. I'm really hoping to find my outlook info.
still lurking somewhere in my computer ;)
Any help really appreciated.

I am also wondering at this. I've read that you have to unistall your
current version of Outlook to use the trial version and no one says what
happens to all of your current outlook app.s. My business relies heavily on
Outlook and I need every bit of the information in that program. Why should
we have to unistall what we have to "try" the new version? Rediculous! I
wish I would have come here and read this board first before downloading the
trial. I never would have wasted my time.

You will also need to uninstall Business Contact Manager from the Office 2003 suite as well, then rerun setup and make Outlook available.

Uninstalling Office applications NEVER touches user data such as documents, spreadsheets, .pst files etc.

I purchased a PC from Dell which included free upgrades to Vista Premium and Office Basic 2007. The pre-installed Operating System is XP Media Center Edition 2005. The PC also came pre-installed with Office Basic 2003. I applied the upgrade but Outlook 2007 was not installed. I also noticed the RED X after trying to Add/Remove Features. As I was writing this reply, a colleague of mine found the following 2 URL's on Microsoft's web site: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/930559/en-us

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/926799/en-us

Hopefully this helps. I will try them later in today.

ROFL! Another Eggheader strikes again.
