Outlook 2007 won't open

Sometimes I close Outlook 2007 when I'm working during the day and then when
I try to open it it won't open. The other MS applications in the 2007 suite
open OK all the time. It is only Outlook that does this - maybe 2 or 3
times a day. I have to re-boot to gain access to it again.

If, after trying to launch Outlook 2007 I do a restart, the application
opens momentarily before Windows logs off and the computer restarts.

Maybe OL isnt exiting correctly, and as such your Processes Tab will show an
instance of Outlook.exe still running
(Cntr+Alt+Del > Processess Tab)

You're right DL. There is an instance of Outlook.exe running after I close
the application. I guess the next question is why that is the case and how
I can fix that.

Thank you for your help.

Well in earlier versions its usually caused by either or a combination of;
1) an Add In eg synch software
2) a fax app that integrates with OL
3) AV software
I assume the same in OL2007

I'm afraid that could well be.
I used Symantec up to 2005 when the latest version gave no end of probs. I
stopped using it then.
Symantec Corporate apps are apparently ok

Hello John,

Outlook sometimes doesn't shut down properly.
It stays active in the background.
You can see it when press Ctrl-Alt-Del at the proces-tab.

More info at: http://www.slipstick.com/problems/close.htm

I've downloaded 'Outlook Shutdown Addin' at:
http://www.daveswebsite.com/software/olshutdown/index.shtml
Outlook now shutsdown properly after closing it.
Key for 'Outlook Shutdown Addin': 96B15384C44490C8FC620E8DD94EBC95

Good luck with it.

Greetings Nees
