I have been using a contact manager for years called Goldmine. It is
non-networked and I am the only user. I wish I could switch to Outlook,
because Outlook is so much more used and accepted and easier to synch with.
Could someone who knows the latest version, skim my list below and let me
know if Outlook can replace all my functions? Thanks so much!
I am able to use it to do the following:
1. it is my mail client and after I open an e-mail, I can associate it with
a contact and save it so it is easily retrievable under that contacts name.
2.I can establish a group of contacts and easily send them all the same
e-mail and have a record of having done so.
3. I can creat Word templates using Goldmine fields (name, address, etc) and
merge a client's data into a word form or letter.
4. I can set up custom fields, ie "Insurance ID number", so that I have a
place to put that under all my contacts.
5. I synch my contacts with my Palm device.
6. I can search my contact database for text or number.
7. I can associate or link related clients.
How much or this can Outlook 2007 accomplish? Thanks
