Outlook 2007

Went to open Outlook 2007 and had a message: "A data file did not close
properly the last time it was used and is being checked for problems.
Performance might be affected while the check is in progress." Right after
that I received the message that the program would have to shut down and did
I want to send a report - which I did. Then I received this: "Microsoft
Visual C++ Runtime Library. Runtime Error! Program: C:\Program
Files\Microsoft Office\Office12\Outlook.exe. R6025 - pure virtual function
call.

I found and saved all my .pst files to a new location. Uninstalled Office
Small Business 2007 (it doesn't give you the option to uninstall just
Outlook). Rebooted. Then reinstalled Office Small Busn. 2007. Went to MS
Update and downloaded all the updates however, all download EXCEPT the
Security Update for MS Office Outlook 2007 (KB946983).

Now what. I can't even work offline in Outlook because the program is
prompted to close everytime. I really need my Contact list as my PC is the
only PC for our business!

Tried to contact MS and they sent me to their forums, etc. which I've
already spent 3 hours going thru. Can anyone help me?????

Yes it does. Change the icon next to Outlook to be "Not available".

Did you try a new mail profile? Uninstalling and reinstalling is often an
incorrect approach.

Anyway, I dont' know anything about profiles. Can you guide me? Will that
help with the Runtime Error - R6025 - pure virtual function call error?

Also... if changing the profile means you have to be in an open Outlook, I
can't do that. It won't allow me to keep it open. Another error message
says it has to close and to send (or not) a report. I can't go into any of
the menus in Outlook or bypass the error message.

When you click the Office entry's Change button in Add/Remove programs,
you'll get the option to remove individual components. I checked.

Create a new profile by following the guidelines here:
http://www.howto-outlook.com/faq/newprofile.htm . I looked in MS's
Knowledgebase and it took five seconds to find this:

Ahhhh.... I believe I did try to use the add/remove function but was afraid
to actually click on it thinking I'd delete the entire program! Even tho I
ended up doing just that anyway.

I also did already read the "Description of the R6025 run-time error in
Visual C++" article you linked me to and of course it makes little sense to
me. I'm not a programmer. But it did give me some insight. I still don't
understand what causes that tho.

If I do change my profile, what does that mean? How will I still be linked
to my (offsite) server? I'm going to read the link you sent and see if I can
figure it out. The IT guy is new at our server's office and is in training -
of course. So for me to get anyone to contact me soon is out of the
question. Bright side to all of this? I'm learning something new every day!

Thanks for your help, Brian. I really don't mean to be a pain.... but I'm
frustrated and business is at a halt. Please check back as I may have more
questions??!!?!

me but I did find another Create a new email profile from MS and printed it
out. I can change it going thru Control Panel. But what happens after that?
Will my .pst files be attached? Do I need to import them? Told ya I didn't
know that much about Outlook setups!

With the Mail applet in Control Panel, you just add the PST to the mail
profile by way of the Data Files tab and the account(s) by way of the E-mail
Account tab. Importing from a PST is never the correct approach.
