Outlook 2007

When I open Outlook 2007, I get a message that a "DATA FILE FAILED TO CLOSE"
and shuts the program down. I have tried to correct the problem by running
the "REPAIR" section of the Disc (that came with the Office 2007 program).
This remedy did not work. The Outlook 2007 is the default mail program and I
am getting "POP" emails from Verizon and Hotmail. Can anybody give me any
suggestions on how to fix this situation?

Have you tried running scanpst.exe against the .pst file?
