Outlook 2010 - Customizing the Ribbon?

I am now using MS Office 2010 and Outlook 2010. I like both so far and am still working
to get use to them. One question on Outlook 2010, is it possible to make the Ribbon's
height a bit smaller - it takes up a quite a bit of space and I was wondering if I could
alter the height of it. I looked through "Customize the Ribbon", but did not see anything
that would do this - like reduce the size of the icons, etc.

Any thoughts are appreciated.

What about hiding the ribbon until you need it? There's a little arrow
that looks like a chevron, over in the upper right corner just below
the X that closes the program.
