Outlook 2k checks for pop3 mail every min

I have a client thats running outlook 2000. His outlook
client connects to us every min to check for pop3 mail.
I have even gone over to his office and looked at his
client and even reset it to 10 mins but it still checks
for mail every min. Have any of you seen this and know a
fix for it?
