outlook 2k stops responding after configure a personal folder file

after setting delivery to a pst file when i open outlook
it stops responding the only way to make it respond is
configuring delivery to mailbox, i've cheked the pst file
and no errors were found i even configure it in other pc,
and there was no problem. any idea about this?
