outlook 7 running very slow

hi everyone
first time in disscussion group!!
im having a big problem with outlook 7 everytime i do send or receive, my
outlook runs very slow and also slows my system down also, i have run spybot,
adaware and avast all in normal mode and safe mode incase i have a virus but
none of them have disscovered anything .when i look at my system it shows me
that outlook is using alot of my memory usage even when i close it down . if
any body has any ideas that could help i would be very greatful

Did you upgrade from an earlier version?
After installing did you run MSupdate?
How often is the send/receive set for?
If you close Outlook, then in Task Manager, running processes, outlook.exe
is still shown then it hasnt shutdown
