One of our clients uses the "Other" functionality in the Outlook bar
religiously to browse his My Documents directory, as well as other
directories on the filesystem. We recently upgraded his workstation, and now
Outlook 97 will crash upon opening certain folders (generic Win2K error msg -
outlook.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows. You will
need to restart the program. An error log is being created.)
Apparently this functionality has always worked fine for him, and he refuses
to adopt another (more appropriate) method at browsing through his files.
They are running Office 97 SR2, and Windows 2K SP4. The Outlook version
pulls up as v8.04.5619.
I didn't see any software updates that looked applicable for this problem,
nor any KB articles relevant. Any suggestions? I can't tell a difference
between the directories/files in the directories that would be causing any
sort of problem (ie, file name length, file size, etc). I have a Dr. Watson
blurb if that would help anyone out.
TIA
