I have some users that use outlook 98 (W2k OS) and some that use
outlook 2003 pro (Windows XP OS). Outlook 98 runs in corporate mode, and both
use exchange server as the email server. When the outlook 2003 client sent a
meeting request the outlook 98 client just received a meeting.ics attachment,
but could not open the attachment as there was no file association on the
(w2k) machine for the extension .ics. It seems as though outlook 98 only
supports Icalendar through OIFB (office internet free/busy) while in Internet
email only mode. If that is true, does outlook 98 support the use of .ics
files?
