Outlook acting delayed or slowed

Hi,

I am using Outlook 2007 SP1 and have noticed that whenever i click or type
or do anything there is a 3-5 second delay...and it is driving me crazy...i
have run the diagnostics of Outlook and it comes back fine...I own a Dell XPS
1710 dual core 2mhz cpu with 2gb of ram and plenty of disk space left...so
there are no memory issues...i have cleaned out my folders that have a ton of
emails such as deleted items or inbox...does anyone have any suggestions as
to what is going on here?...
