Outlook acting different... worked fine for one week

I have Office Pro 2003 with XP MCE on a new Dell Dimension 8400. Outlook was
running fine for the first week. All of a sudden it started running extremely
slow when trying to switch from one area to another, such as from Mail to
Contacts to Tasks. When i do that, the CPU usage spikes up to about 80-100%
and it can take up to 30 seconds or more for it to switch. Also, my Outlook
Today page did work normally, but now it says "Personal Folders - Cannot find
server".

I tried "Detect & Repair" as well as various virus/spyware scans to see if
there was something wrong. Nothing has come up. Everything else on the
computer works fine except Outlook. I have been searching for 8 days for a
solution to this and have found nothing.

Thanks for any help you can give.

Where does Outlook think your Outlook Today should be? RIght-click, choose
Properties, then Advanced.

OK, if I go the Properties-->Advanced, it says it is here: C:\Documents and
Settings\Chris\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\Outlook.pst

Also, if this helps, when I go to Properties-->Home Page, it says that is
here: res://C:\Program Files\Microsoft
Office\OFFICE11\1033\outlwvw.dll/outlook.htm

Thanks for responding, I hope you can help!!!

That's the usual location for the PST, yes. Nothing odd there.

That's the location of the DLL that contains the Outlook Today screen in
"Standard" format. Also perfectly normal. The two paths are, quite
naturally, completely unrelated.

If I were in your shoes, I'd try the following.

1) Create a new PST and make it the delivery location.
a) File>New>Outlook Data FIle>Office Outlook Personal Folders File.
Browse to the folder where you want it (or accept the default).
Name
it what you want (or accept the default). Click OK.
b) Tools>E-mail Accounts>Next. At the bottom left, select the new
PST from the drop-down.
c) Copy the contents of your old PST to the new one (right-click>Copy).
d) Close the old one (right-click>Close).

If that didn't work, I'd create a new mail profile and point it at your old
PST. Control Panel>Mail>Show Profiles>Add.

Alright, thanks for trying.

Any ideas of where else I might be able to look for help?
