Outlook Addin for Windows Live Mail causing problems with Blackberry

J

John Bouley

A customer has a Blackberry device wirelessly synchronizing with their MSN
email account. Once or twice a day they did a manual synch via USB to get
changes to their Calendar and tasks to a pst file in Outlook. However, Email
never showed up in the Inbox in outlook. We downloaded and installed the
Outlook Addin. Right now Outlook shows the MSN account with the correct
Inbox, an empty calendar, and empty tasks. When the user selects the PST
file they can access their calendar and tasks. Other than confusion the
synchronization seems to be affected and is causing problem with tasks and
calendar items.

Is there a way to properly configure outlook for access to MSN without
having the tasks and calendar items in a different account?

Thanks,
John

What Outlook Add-in? Is the MSN account the only mail store on that
machine? Is it the default?

Thanks for the reply.

Outlook 2003 using the Live Mail addin. The MSN account is now the default
account and for the most part works fine. An incoming Email shows up on the
blackberry first then in the Outlook MSN inbox. The blackberry was
previously setup to sync with an account that was linked to a pst file. That
account was for a defunct Verizon email address. As a result we removed the
Verizon account and now only have the MSN account. Is it possible to set the
blackberry to synch with the MSN account?

Thanks,
John

Did you try mapping the MSN calendar folder in the desktop manager software?

I have the add-in and a blackberry but I don't have it as the default acct
or message store and haven't had time to reconfigure outlook, screw up the
blackberry and fix it. :) Checking the sync settings in desktop manager is
actually easy though - in my config, nothing in the msn folder can be
synced. I don't know if being default makes a difference. My config doesn't
sync msn mail (I don't want my msn acct on the BB either.)
