outlook and activesync

I am trying to sync my hp ipaq with outlook. I get the sync message on my
contacts but don't seem to be able to get them on my ipaq

What version of activsync are you using?
- check if your firewall (if you have an additional firewall installed) is
not blocking activsync to connect to the internet.

the message i get is "gor server items sync status is on device" i can't or
don't know how to get my contacts transferred
