Outlook and AOL

I cannot seem to receive email messages from people using an AOL account.
This started several months agoi when I was still using Outlook Express. I
switched to Outlook in Office Pro 2000 and have since upgraded to Office Pro
2003.
Any ideas? My own email/ISP provider is Cox Cable in Arizona.

Assuming that you're not using any rule to filter out any messages from AOL
users, then it sounds like your problem has to do with a spam blocker setting.
This could be at the server level (your ISP) or a setting of your client
application. An easy check for your side would be to disable the spamblocker to
see if any AOL messages will pass. If no joy, either check the ISP's filtering
criteria or contact them for help with this matter.

I just came across this query which is now over a year old....because I had
the same problem with AOL email recently and I am also have Cox Arizona as my
ISP. David suggested a spam blocker was the cause. I contacted Cox and they
resolved the problem. You have to go to their web mail site and enter your
cox user name and password. Once there you go to "settings" at the top menu
and then to "Allow and Block Messages". In that folder I found AOL listed
in the "Blocked Sender and Domains" area. How that got there is a mystery.
I had never been to that location previously but since Sneed also has Cox
Arizona I wonder if their was a generic setting with Cox......they denied
this. Anyway I deleted AOL and now receive emai from that source. The other
choice would be to leave it in that box and check the box under "Enable
Blocking" labeled "do not use advanced block sender and domains
functionality"......or as I did I left the "Activate advanced blocking
features" intact and simply removed the AOL entry.
Anyway this is old and I am certain Sneed has resolved the problem as I
have today.
