outlook and exhange server

I have been using outlook 2007 - with 3 different email accounts and lots of
information in my contacts and calanders. Love it!

Today I have tried to set up using exchange server so I could get outlook
2007 on the move - great idea!

However during the set up it appears that all my previous information has
gone. HELP

I am trying to recover my personal folders, calander and contacts - if I
"search desktop" it shows the details but says the files have been moved or
deleted. I can't find how to get them back

How do I go about this?

Your previous information would be located in a PST file. When Outlook is
open, click on File > Open and browse to your PST from there. Usually your
PST is located under your profile in Documents and Settings.

I assume you have an actual Exchange server to connect to through work?
Exchange is normally used in a business environment.

Many thanks I have found the personal folders and this has recovered my email
and calandar. However my contacts were in "contacts" rather than "contacts
in personal folder" where do I look for this?

If you were using that PST before, then your contacts are in its Contacts
folder. Open that folder, press CTRL-A to select them all, then click
Edit>Copy to folder and specify as the destination the Contacts folder
that's in your Exchange mailbox.
