How do you fix the memory leakage problem when Word is the Outlook
email editor?

How do you know that there is one and that Word as email editor is the
cause?

Lowell writes - i can watch the memory usage grow when i have only Outlook
up with Word as the editor. WO Word it does not do that. It will grow to
twice the physichal memory. My techs tell me this is a common problem but
offered no solution other than not use Word as the editor.

That still doesn't mean it's Word causing it. You could have a misbehaving
Word add-in from a non-Microsoft source.

True, but when i have just Word open it does not occur so i ruled out an
that possiblity.
