outlook and word

I have my outlook express sending and receiving through gmail. When I open
my resume that I have saved on my hard drive and I try to send it to someone,
it won't send. Do I have to link my word to outlook?

Try to send it by what method?

Note that this is an Microsoft Office Outlook forum.

Outlook Express is family of Internet Explorer and Outlook of the Office
family.
