Outlook Archives

I use Outlook 2007 and it creates an archive every 7 days which I rename
using the format archivexxxxxx.pst where xxxxxx is the date the archive was
created.

I am now wanting to combine a number of archives so that I can store a
longer period in one archive file.

Is it possible to combine archive files? If so how do I go about it?

You'd have to open one or create a fresh one then drag/drop the items from
one file into the other

Yes, until I realised that items are deleted from the pst file and transfer
to the archive file!

That's why I'd like to have an archive covering a longer period - say a
year.
